Do I need a referral to see Dr Asaid? | A referral from your General Practitioner or Specialist is required to see Dr Asaid. Please obtain this prior to your initial appointment. |
Do you see self-funded or uninsured patients? | Yes, Dr Asaid is happy to see self-funded patients, and will refer you to one of his affiliated public hospitals if surgery is required. |
What are your fees? | Our consultation fees are in line with Australian Medical Association (AMA) guidelines and industry standards, and will be required to be paid on the day of your appointment. The standard initial consult fee is $330, and for subsequent review appointments $190. A valid referral and Medicare card is required to claim the Medicare rebate. In the event of surgery, Dr Asaid is a registered ‘known gap’ provider with the major health funds. This means that the majority of the cost of your surgery will be paid directly by Medicare or the private health fund. In some instances, an out of pocket expense may be required. |

What conditions does Dr Asaid treat? | Dr Asaid specialises in the evaluation and management of spinal conditions, including back and neck pain, disc prolapse, sciatica, spondylolisthesis, degenerative disc disease, spinal tumours and spinal trauma. He will take the time to understand and evaluate each individual’s condition, ensuring he can accurately diagnose and tailor the best evidence-based treatment approach for you. He also diagnoses and manages both routine and complex brain pathologies. |
I'm not sure I want surgery, should I still come to see Dr Asaid? | A consultation with Dr Asaid does not mean that surgery will be recommended, and it most cases it will not be required. Dr Asaid will work with you to ensure you understand your condition and the options available to you, and will tailor a treatment plan to best suit your needs. |
Does Dr Asaid do phone consultations? | Yes, Dr Asaid is happy to provide phone consultations for patients if appropriate. Please notify one of our staff members if this is your preference. |
